JFHQNCR/MDW Serves as the Information Technology Specialist, performs Systems Administrator duties with responsibilities for planning, and coordinating the installation, testing, modifying, upgrading, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software to support Command and subordinate units. Provide technical advice to senior leadership and technical assistance and training to unit personnel. Analyze processes and problems relative to the design of systems. Identifies system problems that are of an unusual or complex nature and develops corrective action. Design data products, processes of programs that enhance functional area management and provide for increased organizational optimization of Information Technology (IT) processes. Oversees the installation and configuration of applications software and the establishment of user environments. Troubleshoots malfunctions to resolve physical and logical processing problems and recommends acquisition of equipment; software/ hardware which will resolve operational problems. Continually monitors/surveys systems operation to identify and anticipate potential problems which could lead to system integrity loss or serious service interruption. Identifies corrective or preventative procedures. Takes actions to rectify immediate problems and prevent future occurrences. Develop proposals to enhance operational use of systems hardware and software and keeps abreast of technological advances to ensure continued optimum service. Applies innovative techniques and seasoned judgment to assist leadership in identifying areas where IT systems can reduce or eliminate labor and time intensive manual processes. Performs testing, troubleshoots, and corrects complex or unusual problems involving interface and interoperability of system components such as hardware, and software applications programs. Manages installation of system patches and enhancements/updates and ensures systems integrity is not compromised. Develops documentations and procedures for account establishment, system maintenance and system recovery standard operating procedures (SOP). Ensures maintenance and upgrade procedures are established in such a way to minimize disruption to normal business functions of organizations within the installation. This includes ensuring scheduled backups of servers and the application of upgrades or system patches will have minimum impact. Provides proactive consultation and instruction with system users to ensure seamless implementation and deployment of changes. Serves as an advisor to peers and lower graded specialist engaged in similar responsibilities. Create detailed written plans, reports briefing, etc., to support mission tasks and develop and implement business processes that improves or enhances IT system support and capabilities.
Qualifications. Three years of IT System Administration (SA) experience, familiar with Active Directory, DOD network environment. Incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certifications in accordance with DODI 8750.1M/8140;
Security +/WIN10/VMWare and Active Directory (AD) Knowledge, A+
Pays attention to detail, has the ability to identify and resolve problems and recommend solutions.
Has the ability produce and provide written and oral communication to management and customers
Assist network enterprise user in effective application of network capabilities providing on-site/remote customer service support as needed.
Provide IT knowledge transfer to co-workers/peers to ensure transparency of system root cause and recommended best practice resolutions and techniques.
Analyzing, identifying, troubleshooting, implementing and deploying repairing solutions for hardware and software systems with minimum service impacts
Wiliness to work with other as a team member, train peers, and transfer knowledge for the good of the mission.
Configuring and installing operating system software, patches, upgrades and system modification as required to meet AR25-1 standards
Two years of Army Enterprise Active Directory, Microsoft Server environment knowledge
Active Secret/TS Clearance
Requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M; /CCNA Routing and Switching/CCENT/Security +
